The Management Committee of Malaysia Nestlé Retirees Association (MNRA) is pleased to present the Seventh Annual Report for 2017, together with the Audited Financial Report for the year ended 31st December 2017 and the report on MNRA activities.
Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Persatuan Pesara Nestle Mlaysia (MNRA) dengan sukacitanya membentangkan Laporan Tahunan Ketujuh bagi 2017, bersama-sama dengan penyata kewangan bagi tahun yang berakhir 31hb Disember 2017 yang telah diaudit dan laporan mengenai aktiviti-aktiviti MNRA.
1. Seventh Annual General Meeting – 15th March 2017
The Seventh Annual General Meeting was held at the Nestlé Head Office, Menara Surian, attended by 64 Members. In the absence of Mr Alois Hofbauer, MD of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, Mr. Shahzad Umar, Group Human Resource Director, gave the opening address on the company’s performance in brief and a short update of 2017. He also answered questions which were brought up at the last AGM in 2016. Also in attendance were Encik Meor Zulkarmain Ahmad Tamizi – HR Services & Control Manager and Puan Jamaliah from HR.

Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan Ketujuh – 15 Mac 2017
Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan Ketujuh yang diadakan di ibu pejabat Nestlé, MenaraSurian, telah dihadiri oleh 64 orang ahli. Tanpa kehadhiran En. Alois Hofbauer MD Nestle Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad, En. Shahzad Umar, Pengarah Kumpulan Sumber Manusia , telah memberi ucapan pembukaan dan berkongsi prestasi Syarikat bagi tahun 2017 yang ringkas dan kemas. Beliau juga telah sudi untuk menjawab soalan-soalan yang telah di bentangkan di dalam Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan pada 2016. Turut hadir ialah Encik Meor Zulkarmain Ahmad Tamizi – Pengurus Perkhidmatan & kawalan sumber manusia dan Puan Jamaliah dari HR.

2. Management Committee 2017 – 2019
Elections were held for the new Management Committee 2017 – 2019. The new Management Committee is as follows:
Pilihan raya telah diadakan untuk melantik Ahli Jawatankuasa Pengurusan baru 2017- 2019. Jawatankuasa Pengurusan yang baru adalah seperti berikut:

The meeting also appointed Puan Marsita Mohamad and Puan Suhaila Merican as Honorary Auditors for the Year 2017.

Pada Mesyuarat tersebut, ahli-ahli juga melantik Puan Marsita Mohamad dan Puan Suhaila Merican sebagai Juruaudit Kehormat bagi Tahun 2017.
4. Meetings of Management Committee (Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan)
The Management Committee comprised of 11 people.
Jawatankuasa Pengurusan terdiri daripada 11 orang.
5. Recruitment and Members Status
In Dec 2016, our total membership registered 479 members. We had set our target for 2017 at 515 members and we are pleased to report with the Company’s support to pay membership fees for newly retired employees plus the Committee’s efforts in recruitment, we exceeded our target with 519 Members or 8.4% increase. Details as follows:

Pengambilan dan Status Ahli
Pada Disember 2016, jumlah keahlian mencatatkan 479 ahli. Kami telah menetapkan sasaran untuk 2017 pada 515 ahli dan kami dengan sukacitanya melaporkan dengan sokongan Syarikat untuk membayar yuran keahlian untuk pekerja yang baru bersara dan usaha Jawatankuasa dalam pengambilan ahli baru, kami melebihi sasaran kami dengan 519 ahli atau peningkatan 8.4%. Butiran seperti berikut:

6. MNRA Activities 2017
A total of 13 activities carried out during the year by MNRA in the region as well as those organized by the Management Committee.
a) New Year Hi Tea at Quality Hotel, 15th Jan 2017 – Pre-Chinese New Year celebrations to usher in the Year of the Rooster, we held a Dim Sum Hi Tea, attended by 95 Members and their spouses.
b) Stepping Forward Walk for Wellness at Taman Botani Perdana on 25th Feb 2017 – Held once every 2 years.
c) Malacca Members Gathering on 8th March 2017 – attended by 9 members
d) MNRA 7th AGM on 15th March 2017 – A new Management Committee was elected with 2 appointed Honorary Auditors.
e) Small Home Gardening at Taman Botani Perdana, 15th May 2017 – where 25 Retirees learnt about the history of the Gardens and basics of home gardening.
f) MNRA Johore Baru Lunch, 20th May 2017 – A small group attended only but elections for new Chairman and Secretary was held.
g) Visit to Chembong Factory , 18th July 2017 – At last a visit to the new KIT KAT line and upgraded MILO plant.
h) MNRA Shah Alam Hi Tea, 22nd July 2017 – It was also a farewell for En Adnan Pawanteh , Technical Director who was moving to Philippines on a new assignment. Well attended by many Members who retired from the factories.
i) Project RiLeaf, Kinabatangan and Danum Valley, 1st – 5th Aug 2017 – A trip to discover nature and its surroundings, participated in planting saplings along Kinabatangan and adventure in Danum Valley.
j) Wellness Talk, 23rd Aug 2017 – A talk on ”Have a Heart, but a Healthy and an Active Heart” by Jason Tan, Nestlé Nutritionist, with invited guests from Senior Association and ERA.
k) MNRA East Coast Get-Together on 20th Aug and 23rd Sept – smaller number of Members but they managed.
l) MNRA Sarawak Annual Lunch, 9th Sept – well attended by Members from Kuching, Sibu and Miri.
m) MNRA Sabah, 28th Sept 2017 – Newly elected Chairman and and Secretary in place.
There were no activities carried out for the MNRA Northern Region at all.
Each Region is encouraged to organize some sort of activities for the Members and to request for the budget.
Aktiviti MNRA 2017
Kesemua 13 aktiviti telah dijalankan sepanjang tahun oleh MNRA di rantau dan juga yang dianjurkan oleh Jawatankuasa Pengurusan.
a) Hi Tea Tahun Baru di Hotel Quality, 15hb Jan, 2017 - Sambutan Tahun Baru Pra-Tahun Cina untuk menyambut Tahun Ayam, kami mengadakan Hi-Tea Dim Sum, dihadiri oleh 95 Anggota dan pasangan mereka.
b) Melangkah ke Depan untuk Kesihatan di Taman Botani Perdana pada 25 Februari 2017 - Diadakan sekali setiap 2 tahun.
c) Ahli di Melaka bergabung pada 8 Mac 2017 - dihadiri oleh 9 orang ahli
d) AGM MNRA ke-7 pada 15 Mac 2017 - Jawatankuasa Pengurusan baru dipilih dengan 2 Juruaudit Kehormat yang dilantik.
e) Berkebun Kecil diRumah di Taman Botani Perdana, 15 Mei 2017 - di mana 25 Pesara belajar tentang sejarah Taman dan asas-asas berkebun dirumah.
f) MNRA Johore Makan Tengahari, 20 Mei 2017 - Sekumpulan kecil yang hadiri dan pemilihan untuk Pengerusi dan Setiausaha baru tetap dijalankan
g) Lawatan ke Kilang Chembong, 18 Julai 2017 - Lawatan ke kilang KIT KAT yang baru dan kilang MILO yang telah dinaik tarafkan.
h) MNRA Hi Tea di Shah Alam, 22 Julai 2017 - Ia juga merupakan perpisahan untuk En Adnan Pawanteh, Pengarah Teknikal yang berpindah ke Filipina dalam tugasan baru. Dihadiri oleh banyak Ahli yang bersara dari kilang-kilang.
i) Projek RiLeaf, Kinabatangan dan Lembah Danum, 1 - 5 Ogos 2017 - Perjalanan untuk menemui alam semula jadi dan persekitarannya, mengambil bahagian dalam menanam anak pokok di sepanjang sungai Kinabatangan dan pengembaraan di Lembah Danum.
j) Ceramah Kesihatan, 23hb Ogos 2017 - Ceramah mengenai "Mempunyai Jantung, yang Sihat lagi Aktif" oleh Jason Tan, Nestlé Nutritionist, dengan tetamu jemputan dari Persatuan Warga Emas dan ERA.
k) MNRA Pantai Timur berkumpul pada 20hb Ogos dan 23hb September - jumlah ahli yang lebih kecil tetapi mereka berjaya menganjurkan acara bersama.
l) Makan Malam Tahunan MNRA Sarawak, 9hb September - dihadiri oleh Ahli-ahli dari Kuching, Sibu dan Miri.
m) MNRA Sabah, 28hb September 2017 - Pengerusi dan Setiausaha baru telah dipilih.
Tiada aktiviti yang dijalankan untuk Wilayah Utara MNRA. Setiap Wilayah digalakkan menganjurkan beberapa jenis aktiviti untuk Ahli dan meminta belanjawan.
7. Dialogue with Nestle Management
In the course of the year, the Management Committee met with Nestle Management on the Lump Sum which concluded with positive response from pensioners and the Handbook for Pensioners was also sent out by April 2017.
Matters on high costs of living was also discussed several times.
Dialog dengan Pengurusan Nestle Sepanjang tahun ini
Jawatankuasa Pengurusan telah bertemu dengan Pengurusan Nestle mengenai topik ‘lump-sum’ yang telah diselesaikan. Ianya mendapat tindak balas positif daripada pesara dan Buku Pesara juga telah dihantar pada April 2017. Perkara mengenai kos sara hidup yang tinggi juga dibincangkan beberapa kali.

9. Acknowledgement of Thanks
The Management Committee (MNRA) is thankful for the support given and wishes to acknowledge thanks to the following people and parties.
a) Mr. Alois Hofbauer, Patron of MNRA for his continued strong support and the increase in financial assistance in 2017.
b) Mr Shahzad Umar, Group Human Resource Director and his HR team for attending to matters relating to pension, lumpsum offer and the regular update on retirees.
c) Our special thanks to En Adnan Pawanteh, during his term as Technical Director, who always supported MNRA activities and gave permission for the members to visit the factories throughout Malaysia.
d) Group Corporate Affairs Manager and the team for organizing the yearly Nestlé Hi Tea and allowing us to publish our articles in The Nestlé Edge.
e) Nestlé Management and all the Brands for its continued support in kind. Our appreciation for allowing the use of the company’s address as the registered address and the meeting/conference rooms whenever we have monthly meetings or Annual General Meeting.
f) A special thanks to those MNRA Committee members who helped organize all the activities in 2017, all Members, their families and friends who continued to participate in all our events.
It was another great year in 2017, all due to the hard work of the Management Committee and Committee Members in the regions. We can only be a successful association if members organize and participate in the activities to foster relationship with friends.
On behalf of the Management Committee, we wish all of you a wonderful New Year ahead with continued blessings of good health, happiness and peace of mind to enjoy our days.

Ia adalah satu lagi tahun yang hebat pada tahun 2017, semuanya kerana kerja keras Jawatankuasa Pengurusan dan Ahli Jawatankuasa di rantau ini.

QUORUM
Before the commencement of the meeting, the Hon Secretary confirmed that there was enough quorum for the meeting as per the attendance stated above. The meeting commenced at 10.15 am.
1. Welcome Address by the President
The President, Ms Leong Ming Chee started the meeting by thanking the committees for a very busy 2016. She then welcomed Mr. Shahzad Umar, Group Human Resource Director, Encik Meor, HR Services & Control Manager, Puan Jamaliah and all MNRA members and then a minute of silence for members who have passed away within the past year.
2. Address by Mr. Shahzad Umar, Group Human Resource Director, Nestlé (Malaysia) Bhd
Mr Shahzad started off his address by thanking the MNRA members as he said we are the one that set the foundation to put the company where it is today.
He then continued with a summary of the company‘s 2016 performance :
• All the KPIs are met with 120% except market share as Nestle is the prime target for competitors especially regional players.
• Another Nestle good performance is a saving of RM 197 million (SF 45 million) from manufacturing and procurement – highest ever that we have achieved.
• Our Brands spent 1.2 billion in PFME where we have the opportunity to streamline and we are one of the largest advertiser in Malaysia.
• We also won Innovation award where 400 odds ideas coming from employees e.g Kit Kat Chocholatey Shop in The Mall where more than 100 recipes and packaging are being produce.
• Achieving RM 5 billion sales.
• Employer survey where we have 99% participants and achieve one of the best result where employee engagement is the highest and improvement in all dimensions.
For 2017
• Overall a slow start especially OBU (Other Business Units) are struggling.
• Target for the year is to grow 5% and with the overall increase in commodities and RM depreciating it will be a challenged to achieve the growth.
Lump Sum offer
• Very good feedback with 382 members opted for this offer.
• Encik Meor has worked with EPF to enable the lump sum to be credited into EPF
• Will give deadline extension with this new ruling.
3. Q&A to Mr Shahzad Umar, Group Human Resource Director
The following questions from the last AGM were posed to Mr Shahzad Umar:
a. Mr Lee Chin Neer – To offer part time work or internship for retirees.
Ans: Nestle are currently looking into contract work for 3-6 months but need to find the right fit for the job.
b. Encik Fauzilan Bin Abu Bakar – Does Nestle has Medical Insurance scheme for retirees ?
Ans: Nestle do not has special insurance or price as we are not exclusive with one hospital or clinics. Ms.Leong suggested that Nestle should advise employees that are going to retire on medical plan.
c. Encik Arriffin Burnarudeen– Since Nestle has achieve a milestone of reaching RM5billion, is there a monetary celebration for the retirees?
Ans: Will take it up with the management.
d. Mr Oong – Since there are no promo stocks allowed in the staff shops due to complexity, can Nestle retirees have a further 5 % discount?
Ans: Nestle are looking into e-commerce in the near future and this could be the possibility.
e. Puan Yang Kalsom thanked Encik Shahzad, Encik Meor and Puan Jamaliah for working tirelessly on the lump sum offer.
4. Presentation by Ms Leong Ming Chee
Ms Leong presented on the 2016 activities
Recruitment drive – 9.2% increase, from 437 to 479 members.
2016 has been a very active year for MNRA with 12 activities as follow :
• We started off the year to welcome the year of Monkey on 17th Jan with hi tea at Rebung with 150 members.
• Malacca members had a lunch on Jan with the usual members.
• On 8th March, we had our AGM .
• Our first trip for the year on 17-18th April to Trengganu and Kelantan to visit Chilli Farm and MAGGI Kebun Dapur.
• Johore members met up on 23rd April 2016 at Zen Xin organic farm where a guide gave us a tour to their vegetable farm and for some of us it is a first time we see a dragon fruit tree and ate lady fingers right from the tree.
• On 3rd May, we visited Batu Tiga and Sri Muda factory to see the latest machine for Magge mee and UHT production respectively.
• To cater for most of our factory members who stay in Klang and Shah Alam, we held another hi tea on 23rd May at Concord Shah Alam.
• Lunch in Kuantan was on 29th May for East Coast members.
• Penang members had their Durian party get together on 26th May at Balik Pulau.
• As for Sarawak members, we had a 2 days event from 19th-20th August with visit to the Maggi and Ice Cream factory and then a lunch get together.
• On 5th-7th September, a few members went to visit Neslte Padi Club. We not only visited the Padi Farm but also make a side trip to “Free the Seed” where disposable containers are make from the padi husk, Gunung Jerai and an archaeological site in Sungai Petani.
• Our last activity for the year was the Sabah get together on 29-30th October at Kokol Hill, Kota Kinabalu.
Ms Leong then go through the functions of each of the committee members and the 2017 calendar.
5. Confirmation of the Minutes of the 5th General Meeting held on 8th March 2016
The Minutes of the 6th Annual General Meeting held on 8th March 2016 at 10:00 am at Nestlé Head Office, Menara Surian, 22-1, No.1 Jalan PJU 7/3, Mutiara Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, were taken as read, duly confirmed and unanimously adopted, as proposed by Mr Michael Ang and seconded by Mr Lim Ewe Seng.
6. To receive and adopt the 6th Annual Report for the period 1st January to 31st December 2016
Ms Lau Phaih Yean, Hon Secretary, tabled the Third Annual Report ending 31st December 2015 on behalf of the Management Committee after which, the Report was unanimously adopted, as proposed by Mr Rama Rao and seconded by Mr Rennie.
7. To receive and adopt the Audited Statement of Accounts ending 31st December 2016
Encik Mohd Shah bin Hashim questioned Mr Lim Ho Choy on why the balance Sheet expenditure in 2016 is more than 2015. Mr Lim explained that in fact it is better than 2015, as Sabah expenditure in 2015 was paid in 2016.
On the income tax, Encik Shah shared that for non profit organization the tax can be waived and he will help Mr Lim in this matter.
Hon Treasurer, Mr. Lim Ho Choy, tabled the Audited Statement of Accounts for the period ending 31st December 2016 for discussion and approval. The Audited Statement of Accounts ending 31st December 2016 was unanimously adopted, as proposed by Encik Mohd Shah bin Hashim and seconded by Puan Marsita Mohammed.
8. Election of New Committees for 2017-2019
Ms Leong Ming Chee was unanimously re-elected to be the President. She was nominated by Encik Ariffin Buranudeen, seconded by Mr Simon Toh and the nomination was closed by Encik Mohd Shah Hashim.
Ms Jamine Lee was elected to be the Vice President. She was nominated by Ms Teoh Gim Eong, seconded by Mr. Wang Kai Hai and the nomination was closed by Mr Rama Rao.
Pn Zainun Rauf was elected the new Honorary Secretary. She was nominated byMr Rama Rao, seconded by Encik Mohd Shah bin Hashim . The nomination was closed by Encik Mohd Naim bin Ismail.
Mr Wong Teik Sung is the new Assistant Honorary Secretary. He was nominated by Mr Kuah Cheng Hock Phaih seconded by Ms Teoh Gim Eong and the nomination closed by Encik Mohd Shah Hashim.
Mr Lim Ho Choy was re-elected to be the Treasurer. He was nominated by Pn Zainun Rauf, seconded by Pn Yang Kalsom and the nomination closed by Encik Mohd Shah Hashim.
