Learning from all the activities that we have organized, it seems that "cari makan" is one of the favourite pass time of our retirees. Despite the initial grouses like..." why have it in KL?" "don't know how to go there la!" "Traffic jam, ma!" …Eventually, some came by taxi, some drove, others by LRT and a few by KTM. At the end, close to 100 members and non-members turned up, including few new members like Ms Suganthini Masilamoney, Mr Anthony Low and wife. The attendance exceeded our expectations, maybe it was because members "makan free mah"?
For this event, the committee tried hard to find new places that offer different food and of course, at a reasonable price. Hence we have selected dim sum at Quality Hotel for the hi-tea on 15th Jan 2017. Looking at the speed at which the food vanished from the buffet table and the plates than there could be served, who says old people cannot eat!
The packed room was filled with laughter and chatter, probably talking about grand ma and grand pa stories, but who cares? Occasionally, groups of people will take selfie or photos with their smart phones, capturing the memories so as to share with other friends who were not here. This is exactly the main reason for MNRA to organize this event because this will be a good occasion to meet up with old friends and sharing those joyful moments that still lingered in our hearts!
Before we said goodbye, some lucky few also walked home with shopping vouchers, t-shirts and limited edition cook books!
Finally, Ming Chee gave a progress updates on the company's one-time Lump Sum offer to the pensioners, no doubt eagerly waiting for the letters to find out the number!
It's a new year, a new beginning and a new dream, take care; my friends!
