Life Continues....Foursome in Taiwan

If you are thinking what I am thinking, then you are still strong and healthy.
But this is about something else, read on to find out  ....

Four of us - Yeap Swee Lim, Goh Seng Nam, Lee Choo Yang & myself Tee Tiong Chye made a trip to Taiwan from 11th - 19th March 2014. Being Retirees, we started planing early last August 2013, to take advantage of  the Matta Fair. The Taiwan tour  package by Hwajing Travel & Tours SB was for 6 days only. But our team leader Mr.Yeap Swee Lim persuaded us to extend another 2 days on our own free & easy in Taipei.

We started from Taoyuan,Taipei visiting market stalls looking for local fruits of the seaon. Enjoyed local foods during dinner time.

From here, we dropped into Taipei 101 Shopping Mall ( the tallest building in Taiwan ).
Chiang Kai Shek  National Memorial Hall is surrounded by a large Chinese - style park, a miniature museum of Chiufen village – a must for tourists to go as it consists of closely packed houses clinging to steep mountain sides, offer enchanting scenery and fascinating glimpses into the lifestyles of the past. We thoroughly enjoyed the local foods in this place.

We also visited Nantien temple in Hualien, visited Linzi and tea center, Taroko Memorial Arch building. In Taitung, it was time to enjoy Lu Yeh Xi Hot Spring. We put up a night in Master Bear Resort whilst having fun with night activities and playing games.

In Kaohsiung,we visited Fo Guang mountain, Mei Non Hakka village, Husan Tien Shangti Temple,It was interesting taking a boat ride on Love River during night time.

In Taipei, we visited a lot of places which most tourists would go… Martyrs Shrine, Shihlin official residence, Geothermal valley, handicraft center, Raohe street tourist night market., beautiful

Yangmingshan National park on ta mountain - the area is comprised mainly of the Datun volcanic group, one of Taiwan's biggest volcanic distributions with thermal vents, craters, crater lakes. It was the perfect  time for flower appreciation at Yangmingshan. Beautiful azaleas and cherry blossoms cover the mountainsides.

Yeliu Geo park – this park encompasses Yeliou's best known attraction with fantastically shaped rocks that have been fashioned by wind and sea such as Queen's Head, candlestick rock and many others.

This trip offers us lots of opportunity to taste the delicious local foods, fruits, coffee and of course we have to do our shopping as well.

It is great to retire, to be able to travel and enjoy happy times with ex colleagues. I recommend all of us to do this while we still can.

Happy Retirement.
